BRIEF

Walesby Forest is an International Outdoor Activity Centre set in over 250 acres of Sherwood Forest. The site has been welcoming visitors since 1938 and boasts over 30 activities, as well as a range of accommodation suited to a variety of visitor groups. The team at Walesby required a new strategy to build the brand, increase visitor numbers and position the leisure site as a captivating, outdoor experience which resonates with both families and adventurers alike.

SOLUTION

Our multi-disciplinary support for Walesby Forest has encompassed a full rebrand, design and build of a new information-driven website and the delivery of ongoing tactics across a long-term brand building strategy.

We began our adventure with Walesby with a bespoke brand workshop. This session provided clarity of the brand fundamentals and ensured that the rebrand was based on clearly defined goals, objectives and evidence. We identified the theme of ‘acres of fun’ – thanks to the activities on offer and the 250 acres of forest surrounding the site. The final identity combined natural, earthy tones and more vibrant colours with playful iconography and a bank of outdoor activity-based photography, echoing the feelings of adventure and proud heritage of this organisation.

Following the successful rebrand, the client required our UX / UI support for the build of a new information-driven website. The purpose of the platform was to inform users about the centre and encourage them to book events, trips and activities. With over 30 different activities available to book including kayaking, climbing, camping and archery, the site required a dynamic filtering system and a flexible CMS for future updates, announcements and event promotions.

Walesby has since seen a significant increase in visitor numbers and we continue to support the team with organic social, community management and creative design for signage, seasonal events and other brand tactics.
